Despacito is a hit song from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It became the number one streamed music at that in just six months. This mixture of reggaeton, and pop music didn't just bring people back to this style, but also to Latin music in general. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs during 2016, which was compared with two songs from 2015. During the height of Despacito's popularity in 2017 however 19 mostly Spanish tracks made it into the Top 100, and in 2020 the number of songs that made it was 41. After Justin Bieber's remix in two languages Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake along with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna along with Maluma with Maluma on Medellin (2019). Certain reggaeton performers were unhappy about the trend toward popular music by 2020. Yet a new group, Rauw alejandro, was determined to alter the direction of music. It often blended elements from electronic dance music, as well as different genres.
